Hiya!  Awfully nice of you to visit my little ol' blog.

A quick description of me would be that I love my family, my friends, life, photography, and pancakes.

I live in Atlanta with my giant dog Fletch, and spent the first chunk of my working days as a scientist.  Then, I shifted some major gears, and started my photo biz nearly seven years ago.  I feel extremely lucky to have a career that is always changing and always challenging.  I'm grateful for every day that I get to wake up and do what I love.

I'm drawn to all forms of art, and multiple styles of photography.  However, I'm moved most by personality and character.  This is what set me on the path to doing portraiture.  Whether I'm shooting a beautiful wedding, a happy family, or a beloved pet, I'm always a portrait photographer.  I want every image to speak volumes and make it's viewer linger just a little longer.

I wear my heart proudly on my sleeve, and that's what you will get from my photos.  I will glady give you a little bit of myself in every frame I shoot.

Although this is a photo blog, I occasionally have to post something that absolutely needs to be shared.  I recently met a fellow from Berlin named Niko.  He’s in town working on a show at Dad’s Garage Theater.  Matt, Fletch, and I recently took him to Stone Mountain for a hike (where I tried to convince Fletch that the big chunk of granite was the Pyrenees Mountains….he wasn’t buyin’ it).  Trying to explain some of Georgia’s history to Niko made me realize that I’m completely useless in this capacity.

So, Niko is a brilliant cello player, and I was lucky enough to experience his live performance last night.  It was a musical treat that I won’t forget.  I cried from being moved, and I cried from laughing my head off.  He actually plays a section of music, then loops it and plays over it, creating gorgeous layers of sound.  I just had to share some of his work with you.  Here’s is a film of him performing Canon in D.  It’s the most beautiful version of this piece I have ever heard.
