Hiya! Awfully nice of you to visit my little ol' blog.
A quick description of me would be that I love my family, my friends, life, photography, and pancakes.
I live in Atlanta with my giant dog Fletch, and spent the first chunk of my working days as a scientist. Then, I shifted some major gears, and started my photo biz nearly seven years ago. I feel extremely lucky to have a career that is always changing and always challenging. I'm grateful for every day that I get to wake up and do what I love.
I'm drawn to all forms of art, and multiple styles of photography. However, I'm moved most by personality and character. This is what set me on the path to doing portraiture. Whether I'm shooting a beautiful wedding, a happy family, or a beloved pet, I'm always a portrait photographer. I want every image to speak volumes and make it's viewer linger just a little longer.
I wear my heart proudly on my sleeve, and that's what you will get from my photos. I will glady give you a little bit of myself in every frame I shoot.
It felt like the holidays arrived a little bit early this year on the wedding day of Karen and Ashley. Their intimate and elegant event was full of warmth and a joyous spirit, which is also the feeling you get from being around these two lovely people. Their big day began with a moving ceremony at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. Then, we got to head over to Rhodes Hall for some photos at the top of the tower. So cool! The final destination was Midtown’s Pasta Da Pulcinella, where friends and family gathered to wish these two well in the new chapter of their life together. Beautiful couple. Beautiful day. I wish them a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations, Ashley and Karen!

Say hello to the Holloways! I had the pleasure of meeting this lovely family to take some fun, autumn photos in Grant Park. My favorite pics of families are ones that show them being relaxed, while having natural, sweet interactions. This adorable group made that extremely easy to capture. I also appreciate a brother-sister relationship that has bouts of hair-pulling followed by kisses on the cheek. Pretty cute. A million thanks to the Holloways for such a super photo play date!
I had a super time photographing Karen and Ashley’s charming and elegant wedding this weekend. They are the definition of “good people”, and I’m looking forward to posting lots of photos from their big day. In the meantime, here’s a video preview of them sharing some sweet moments from their relationship. Spoiler alert…….I think they might be in love.
Zany is the bomb. I’m not just saying that because she threatened to steal my dog if I talked smack about her on this blog. I think Fletch is safe, because I can honestly say that Zany is the coolest. First, let’s just get it out there and say that she’s beautiful. Done. Also, I barely remember taking any photos because she, Sloane, and I were yammering on and giggling the whole time. She’s pals with our lovely makeup artist, Sloane Warren, so it was more Girls Gone Wild than Girls Gone Tame. Sometimes. it’s almost not fair that my job is so wicked awesome. Way to give my camera the what-for, Zany!
A few of my favorite things: old blues music on a Sunday, laughing so hard I can’t breathe, peppermint ice cream, and………the Sharp family!!! I’ve known Travis and Stephanie for years. They are downright lovely people, and they’ve managed to pass all that lovely on to their two super-sweet gals. With a family this cute, silly, joyful, and loving, you just can’t go wrong. Also, let’s talk about the awesome outfits. Seriously, you guys. Adorbs!
This delightful gal is Jenny. Not only is she blindingly pretty, but she is just about the sweetest person you will meet. In addition to that, she totally understands the importance of grey Chucks. Whoop! Also, she’s lucky I didn’t steal her shirt with the yellow bow. Seriously. What a fun shoot, and I’m so glad I got to meet this fabulous lady.
At the end of our shoot…..a few just for fun. Yippee!
Wow, I have known the fabulous Sylvester family for 14 years now. One of my absolute favorite times of the year is when we get together for our annual photo shoot. Every time is completely different, and guaranteed to be fun and awesome. They’re creative, beautiful, silly, and love each other a lot. Do you see why I’m crazy about this family? So, here’s our 2011 edition. They rocked it out as usual. Already looking forward to 2012!
Years ago, when I used to be employed by a biomedical company, I worked with a wonderful lady named Carol. As I began to grow my photography business, she was one of my most supportive cheerleaders. Once I left to pursue my photo biz full-time, I knew she’d be one of the people I’d miss most. She used to say, “When my daughter gets married, I want you to shoot her wedding”. Well, I couldn’t be happier that not only has that time come, but they STILL want me to be their photographer. Yay! I’m so thrilled to be on board, and to have spent some time with Rachel and Greg, who are simply the loveliest couple. Greg coaches high school basketball, so we got to start their photo time in the gym shooting some hoops. Then we hit some of the cute spots around Suwanee. Rachel and Greg are really sweet, adorable, and it’s so cool how they crack each other up. I seriously, can not WAIT to shoot their wedding next year!!!
I would like to take this blogging opportunity to totally brag some more about Angela and Chris, and how utterly fantastic they are. These two are sweet, hilarious, gorgeous, smart, and romantic. Basically, working with them is like winning the photography lottery. We had such a super-duper “day after” shoot, hitting some favorite spots around Atlanta. Just a warning to all of you, I will now expect all shoots to end with giggles, hot wings, and bourbon at Manuel’s. Yes? Ok! Chris and Angela, what else can I say other than it’s been a joy capturing your wonderful moments, but it’s been even better getting to know you.
