Hiya!  Awfully nice of you to visit my little ol' blog.

A quick description of me would be that I love my family, my friends, life, photography, and pancakes.

I live in Atlanta with my giant dog Fletch, and spent the first chunk of my working days as a scientist.  Then, I shifted some major gears, and started my photo biz nearly seven years ago.  I feel extremely lucky to have a career that is always changing and always challenging.  I'm grateful for every day that I get to wake up and do what I love.

I'm drawn to all forms of art, and multiple styles of photography.  However, I'm moved most by personality and character.  This is what set me on the path to doing portraiture.  Whether I'm shooting a beautiful wedding, a happy family, or a beloved pet, I'm always a portrait photographer.  I want every image to speak volumes and make it's viewer linger just a little longer.

I wear my heart proudly on my sleeve, and that's what you will get from my photos.  I will glady give you a little bit of myself in every frame I shoot.

chris + lucy!

Oh, man!  I have been looking forward to this shoot for what seems like ages.  I knew it would be a special one, and Chris and Lucy did not disappoint.  Chris has been a friend for almost 13 years now, and his daughter Lucy downright defines the word “adorable”.  We recently headed to the park and had us a grand old time.  I sure do love some moustaches, some playtime silliness, and fancy outfits.  This outing had them all!  Also, we now have photographic proof that there is nothing sweeter than a dad and his little girl.

Chris and Lucy, all I can say is “Thank you, Thank You, and THANK YOU”!

tiffani + andrew’s wedding

Yay!  Here’s another fabulous wedding I second shot with the lovely Robin Nathan.  This was the big day of Tiffani and Andrew.  Getting ready began at the Homewood Suites, and then the ceremony and festivities were held at the charming Gardens at Kennesaw Mountain.  I’m really happy for this sweet couple, and they definitely know how to have fun.  Yay!

Here are some images I captured during their super event

claudia gets cheeky – outside!

Wow!  I am WAY excited to post about my first outdoor Cheeky Lamb boudoir photo shoot.  Claudia simply could not be more gorgeous or more photogenic.  I didn’t measure, but I’m pretty sure her legs are roughly 2 miles long.  Mine are roughly the height of a couch.

I was thrilled when we first met to plan her shoot, and she mentioned wanted something outdoors-y.  I wasn’t sure about the “where”, but it turned out that a friend of hers had the most incredible property that was offered up for our photos.  Yay, friends!  We began by heading out to where they knew of a super location.  I was in the back of the pick-up with my gear.  Just when I thought this was probably the most fun I could have heading to a shoot, 3 beautiful horses and a hilarious goat showed up and began chasing the truck.  I can’t remember when I’ve laughed that hard!  As we began snapping pics, we tried not to notice the rain that attempted to literally dampen our outing.  Claudia was not phased, and I covered my camera with plastic, and we had a blast.  Later on, there were even bats swooping around.  So cool!

I’ve posted four shots of this stunning lady.  Most of the images we captured will be just for her and her hubby to enjoy.  However, she was nice enough to approve these few for your viewing.  Claudia, thank you for being so wonderful, adventurous, and of course….cheeky!!

niles + ali’s wedding

Yay!  I got to second shoot another fabulous wedding with Robin Nathan.  Any photographers who haven’t tried second shooting, you are missing out.  It’s way fun.  I have two more events to post that I recently second shot with Robin.  It’s a busy season!  The images I’m posting here are from the super gorgeous wedding day of Ali and Niles.  If you look up “bride” in the dictionary (or on Wikipedia!), there should be a picture of Ali there.  The festivities were held at the lovely East Lake Golf Club.  It was an all-around fantastic time.  Also, Kingsized was the band, so my ears were very, very happy.

Here are some of the photos I captured throughout the day….

christina + tom’s wedding

What a swell day!  A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of second shooting the lovely wedding of Christina and Tom with the fabulous Robin Nathan.  The adventure began at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel for all the getting ready.  The ceremony was held at Saint Thomas More in Decatur.  Then, the reception moved on to one of my favorite places….Fernbank Museum of Natural History.  Dinosaurs!

Everything was spectacular.  Here are some photos I snapped throughout the occasion!

Here’s adorable Lauren.  Earlier this year, I had so much fun shooting her Cheeky Lamb portraits.  Yay!  Can’t wait to shoot her wedding with Robin in a couple months!

lauren’s headshots

This stunning gal is Lauren.  We had a fantastic headshot-takin’ evening last week, and she is so sweet and fun.  We did our part to support local wildlife by feeding lots of hungry mosquitoes (apparently, I need to buy stronger bug wipes).

Lauren is able to achieve something that always fascinates me…the ability to pose with a half-open smile, and still look awesome.  When I attempt this expression, it seems that I’m seconds away from a stream of drool.  Lauren pulls off this look, and manages to look gorgeous.  I swear I’m not jealous.  By “not”, I mean “completely”.  Here she is, in all her fabulousness…

Thanks, Lauren…you rock!

tom + julia get cheeky

I love that no matter how long I do photography, I never run out of “firsts”.  I am beyond excited about my very first Cheeky Lamb boudoir shoot with a couple!!  This is the second, more sassy half of Tom and Julia’s engagement portraits.  I could not have asked for a more PERFECT couple to do this with.  Not just because they are both crazy gorgeous, but because they are relaxed and fun and smokin’ hot and silly and romantic and AWESOME.  I am a fan.  Also, there was tequila.  All three of us are connoisseurs of good cactus juice.  They were kind enough to help me break my no drinking on shoots rule.  I broke it before, during, and after, actually.  Woo hoo!

So, we hung out at their cool place, listened to music, goofed off, and here’s what we shot…

Meet Mo, the most tolerant cat ever.  Doesn’t mind jumping or sparkly outfits.

Both Mo and Julia got their nails did.

Tom and Julia, I totally adore you both.  Thanks for making another super-duper first happen for me!

tracy’s headshots

How adorable is Tracy?  What a sweet, fun gal.  Am I just a little bit jealous of how much she looks like Christina Ricci?  Yes, yes I am.  We had a blast taking her headshots last week.  This shoot was yet another experience where I worked with someone during an entire shoot, and then had the person tell me I’ve already shot them before!  Granted, she looked very different when I took photos of her during a performance of Synchronicity’s show “The Snow Queen” back in 2008.  Wow, that was a cool show, and Tracy gave such a great performance in it.  I can’t believe my brain did not make the connection to realize this was the same person.  Old age is a harsh playmate.  Tracy, thanks for doing such an incredible job during your shoot, and for not making fun of my absent mindedness!
