Hiya!  Awfully nice of you to visit my little ol' blog.

A quick description of me would be that I love my family, my friends, life, photography, and pancakes.

I live in Atlanta with my giant dog Fletch, and spent the first chunk of my working days as a scientist.  Then, I shifted some major gears, and started my photo biz nearly seven years ago.  I feel extremely lucky to have a career that is always changing and always challenging.  I'm grateful for every day that I get to wake up and do what I love.

I'm drawn to all forms of art, and multiple styles of photography.  However, I'm moved most by personality and character.  This is what set me on the path to doing portraiture.  Whether I'm shooting a beautiful wedding, a happy family, or a beloved pet, I'm always a portrait photographer.  I want every image to speak volumes and make it's viewer linger just a little longer.

I wear my heart proudly on my sleeve, and that's what you will get from my photos.  I will glady give you a little bit of myself in every frame I shoot.

cassie + keith’s vow renewal

As if Sara and Scott hadn’t already earned their share of awesome points during their way cool Halloween wedding last year, they also now get credit for allowing me to get to know their friends Cassie and Keith better.  A couple months ago, I got a voice message from Cassie.  It was one of those messages that was so lovely and sweet that I probably kept it on my phone longer than I should have.  She was hoping that I might be able to photograph an event she was planning.  She and her hubby, Keith, were going to renew their vows in celebration of their 10 year anniversary.  What a fabulous reason for some photos!  I don’t throw around the word “blessed” too often, but I do feel really blessed that they wanted me to capture this day for them.  It was a beautiful event that included their two adorable sons, family, friends, food, and even a loud train that crashed the ceremony.

Here are some of the images I snapped, and there are more pics in a slideshow at the end of this post.  Woo hoo!

Cassie has one of the brightest, warmest smiles you’ll ever see.

It’s a cutie-pie sandwich!

I love this one of the boys spying on mom and dad.

Their celebration was held in downtown Acworth, which had some really charming places to take photos.  Yay!

Cassie put out some super pretty decorations.

I was a little obsessed with all the wonderful mirrors in the space.

The whole gang!  Gotta love people that are okay being a little goofy.

Keith and Cassie talked about how important their boys are to them, and presented both of them with a special engraved tag to wear around their necks.  So cool.

She brought a gift certificate that she wasn’t able to find on her original wedding day.  If I have the story right, I think she was pretty upset when it was lost 10 years ago….and I believe Keith found it on this day when they renewed their vows.  Isn’t that wild?!

The boys were so cute checking out the trains going by.

Thanks so much you two, and here’s to another fantastic 10 years!

home from bert’s big adventure

Hi everybody!  I’m back from another awesome trip to Disney World with Bert’s Big Adventure.  Woo hoo!  I can’t wait to post lots of pics of these incredible families having the time of their lives.  However, Robin and I each shot about 3000 images, so we have just a little editing to do first.  Help!  I’m so excited to share more of our trip with you, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, here we are doing what we do best….jazz hands!

Just two photographic marvels having a swell time.  And by “marvels”, I mean “goofballs”.

m-i-c….see you real soon…

k-e-y….why?  because we like you….M-O-U-S-E!!!

I’m off to Florida for this year’s Disney trip with Bert’s Big Adventure.  Woo hoo!  We have a new group of wonderful families, and I’m looking forward to getting to know them this week while taking lots and LOTS of fun photos.

I’m really excited that Robin gets to join me this year too.  Yay!  I told her that we have to get mouse ears with our names on them.  Except maybe instead of “Stacey” and “Robin”, they should say “Creepy” and  “Sassy”.  We’ll just tell everybody that those are some new Dwarfs they’re adding to the Snow White saga.

You can keep up with our adventures on the BBA website, and I’ll be posting lots of images once I’m back in Atlanta.  Have a great week, and I’ll see you soon!

a photo card preview

I have a few more Cheeky Lamb boudoir shoots to post over the next few days.  Woo hoo!  In the meantime, here’s a preview of Lisa’s shoot, and the card design I put together so that she’ll have something fun to give her hubby on Valentine’s Day.  She’s a wonderful, gorgeous lady, and I can’t wait to show you more of her pics.

I have to give a shout-out to the ever-awesome MCP Actions, who not only sell really cool tools for photographers, but there’s also an occasional free-bee.  They recently offered this sweet, modern card design by the Photographer Cafe.  Totally diggin’ it!  I love people who share.

amber gets cheeky

Amber is one of my favorite human beings in general and in front of my camera.  She’s hilarious, sassy, gutsy, and can go from tomboy to sexpot in about 5 seconds.  I think she might know something the rest of us gals don’t, and she aint tellin’.  Just in case you need some evidence, check out these first couple pics we took during her Cheeky Lamb boudoir photo shoot.  She recently went skiing, so I decided we should do some naughty ski bunny shots.  I sincerely hope she wears this outfit the next time she’s on the slopes.

Then we got all film noir up in that hotel room…

Amber, everything about you in this next one makes me swoon.

I guess these posts are already PG-13-ish, so I’m not afraid to say that this next one is BAD-ASS.  If she doesn’t use this as her Facebook profile pic, I’ll be mad.  No pressure, Amber, but I mean really mad.

The origin of some of her true beauty is that she’s not afraid to be goofy.  To me, there are few things prettier than that.

Then things got dirty.  No, not THAT kind of dirty.  The kind with actual dirt that I brought in a ziplock bag.  Yay!

I never knew a closet could be this hot.

Thank you Amber, you stunning creature, you!

happy birthday robin

Yay!  I had to post a celebratory pic of my pal and fellow photographer, Robin.  She is a super-swell gal, and will probably never speak to me again after putting this up.  This was taken when she was assisting during one of my recent Cheeky Lamb boudoir shoots.  People think boudoir photography is all about body parts and underwear, but it’s really more about sitting in a jacuzzi eating cheese puffs.  Seriously.  One thing that cracks me up about this photo is that Robin never makes that face.  It must be a special “don’t bug me, I’m eating snacks” face.  Hers is cute, whereas, mine is more of a growl.

Happy birthday Robin, and I can’t wait for you to join me next week in Florida to shoot Bert’s Big Adventure!  Woo hoo!

jas gets cheeky

Jas is one of the coolest gals you’ll ever meet.  She’s that combination of down-to-earth and blatantly pretty that causes things like rampant envy and drooling.  I had the pleasure of meeting her last year when we took her acting headshots, and I adored her instantly.  We had so much fun during our Cheeky Lamb boudoir shoot, which even had some pseudo danger.  The fire alarm kept going off at the hotel.  The first time, we grabbed a bunch of stuff and headed down the stairs like a good group of safety-first gals, only to be told that they were running tests that day.  Might have been handy to mention that at check-in.  Sigh.  Once we confirmed that we were fire-free, we hung out in our room and played, giggled, and took lots of photos.  Hooray!  Jas, you are simply fab-u-luss!  I don’t know how you do what you do so well in front of the camera, but thank you for doing it!

When Jas and I met to discuss the style of her shoot, she mentioned “Alice in Wonderland”.  Yes, yes!  So, here’s what we came up with…

002300150029

I didn’t even realize it at the time, but in this next series, we did a few “falling” pics.  I guess that could be Alice in Wonderland-ish too.  Yay!

00330041005500470060

I brought one of our Cheeky Lamb soaps for Jas to pose with.  Thanks Jas!  Oh, I also have to shout out to Robin for assisting us during the shoot.  She helped by posing for lighting scenario tests, watching “Tank Girl“, and eating cheese puffs.  Each job is equally important!

00890087

Jas, I don’t even know what to say about these next ones other than “WOW!”.

00770070

See, sometimes we even allow laughter during our shoots!

00790082

Jas, you are a rock star.

smart folks done this

Am I the last person on Earth to find out about this?  I’ll go ahead and explain it for those of you like me who still use phones for making phone calls and still say words like “rad” and “choice”.  If you go to THIS site, you can enter any URL, to generate a bitmap-y doo-dad like this one below.  When anyone sees this, they can take a picture of it with their camera phone, and will be immediately directed to its corresponding website.  Ha-CHA!  The one I’ve posted is for this blog.  I plan to print it out, affix it to a big magnet, and attach it to my car.  Even if it doesn’t work as a marketing idea, maybe it will at least improve my street cred.

george headshots

George, if I have new laugh lines that appear on my face in the near future, I’m blaming you!  Dang, I haven’t giggled that much in a while.  It also makes me happy that during our shoot, he understood why after I’d say “put your hands on your hips”, I’d have to follow it with singing “than I dip, you dip, we dip”.  Thank you for that, George!  We had us some fun, and he had no trouble letting his cool personality show itself effortlessly in his photos.  Yay!  Time to thank the lovely Sloane Warren for another great job getting George’s marvelously angular face camera-ready.

Here are a couple pics from our photo playtime…

perry and tara get cheeky together

Pretty x 2 = yay!  When I  was scheduling Tara and Perry’s Cheeky Lamb boudoir photo shoots, they requested a little overlap time to do a tandem session.  Hooray!  We somehow managed to show that girl-on-girl doesn’t have to be x-rated.  Sorry folks, if you’re lookin’ for that, you’ve come to the wrong website.  Perhaps we’ll start capturing video at our shoots and market our “Girls Gone Appropriate!” films.  Aw, yeah.  Here are Perry and Tara (or “Para” as I like to call them) demonstrating the only thing more awesome than a fun boudoir shoot….two fun boudoir shoots in one!
