Hiya!  Awfully nice of you to visit my little ol' blog.

A quick description of me would be that I love my family, my friends, life, photography, and pancakes.

I live in Atlanta with my giant dog Fletch, and spent the first chunk of my working days as a scientist.  Then, I shifted some major gears, and started my photo biz nearly seven years ago.  I feel extremely lucky to have a career that is always changing and always challenging.  I'm grateful for every day that I get to wake up and do what I love.

I'm drawn to all forms of art, and multiple styles of photography.  However, I'm moved most by personality and character.  This is what set me on the path to doing portraiture.  Whether I'm shooting a beautiful wedding, a happy family, or a beloved pet, I'm always a portrait photographer.  I want every image to speak volumes and make it's viewer linger just a little longer.

I wear my heart proudly on my sleeve, and that's what you will get from my photos.  I will glady give you a little bit of myself in every frame I shoot.

the lee family – 2010

The Lee family just plain rocks.  A couple years ago, they were nice enough to purchase a family portrait shoot that I had donated to an American Heart Association fund-raising auction.  They were so lovely to work with during that shoot, and I was thrilled that they wanted some more photos this year.  Yay!  Since they have lots of beautiful black & white family photos hung on their walls, I know that when I get together with them that I’ll get a nice reminder of how cool it can be to take classic and simple portraits.  The Lee kids have personalities that really shine, and that makes for some really awesome images.  Thanks for doing another wonderful job in front of the camera!

new traditions

Lately it has come to my attention that I hardly ever take photos of my family or things going on in my life.  Ironic, yes?  I also have been thinking about the coolness of initiating new, positive traditions.  I put those two ideas together and decided that every year on Christmas, we will take a special photo.  Doesn’t have to be fancy.  Can definitely be silly.  Mostly, it just has to be done.  So, I whipped out the camera and got this thing started.  Yayz!  Here’s me, mom, and dad whoopin’ it up, holiday-style.

I hope you are all having a wonderful, relaxing, silly, hopeful, awesome holiday season with your loved ones!

it’s beginning to look a lot like fletchmas

Happy holidays from me and Fletch!  “Don we now, our gay apparel”…..

alexandros headshots

I’m glad that Alexandros needed some new headshots, because I really enjoy meeting and working with awesome people.  He is definitely in the “awesome people” category.  We had a fun, relaxed photo shoot, and he is as easy to talk to as he is to photograph.  Thanks Alexandros for the fun photo time, and for making my job way too easy!

john k headshots

It was so nice to see John again.  I had a wonderful time shooting his and Megan’s lovely wedding day about two years ago.  What a great couple!  John told me that he needed some portraits for his business, and I was happy to oblige.  I’m glad we got to take some photos and catch up a bit.  Yay!

the carstens family 2010

I could write pages and pages describing all the swell things about this family.  It’s tough, but I’ll try to sum it all up.  Lena and Josh approach parenting with such fun-filled honesty.  They are equal parts “no BS” and “go with the flow”.  Love that.  I also totally dig how different Chloe and Gavin’s personalities are.  Gavin is the sweetest, most content baby.  So calm and smiley.  Chloe has a wild side and dramatic flair that I think is awesome in kiddos.  She is fearless, and I can learn a lot from her.  We ran around the Atlanta Botanical Garden recently, and took tons of photos.  So cool.  Lena, thanks so much for putting the whole family in such adorable outfits, and the lollipops were fantastic!  I hope the clean-up wasn’t too labor-intensive.  You guys bring lots of fabulous to your photo shoots!

the nouraee family

Dear Adelaide,

You are too young to understand this, but I feel the need to inform you that you possess the following:  a really hip nursery, a couple of equally hip parents, the awesomest outfits, and the cutest little happy face.  You are one lucky and adorable little lady.

Yours truly, and with hugs,

Stacey

Ok, so I seriously dig this family.  I shot their uber-gorgeous wedding a couple years ago, and now they are parents.  Yippee!  I’m so happy for them, and they sure know how to make parenting look cool.  We got together recently and whooped it up photo-wise.  Also, I have to thank Andisheh for the tea, the Hall and the Oats.  When I’m having a great day, it can always be made even greater with some H&O!

Ok, ok….before anybody gets mad at me for this next one, you have to understand that Andisheh and Christi love it as much as I do.  I am all about REAL family moments, along with the pretty-pretty ones.  Adelaide is such a sweet, calm baby.  When she had a surprise spit-up attack, I just couldn’t resist.  Tee hee!

I hope she keeps this hairstyle forever.

And now, if they ever form a band, a few album covers…..

I love pets!  And I love people who love their pets.

Thanks so much, you guys!  You’re family is the bestest!

carol’s headshots

This lovely lady is Carol.  We got together recently to take some new headshots for her.  Also along for the fun ride was makeup artist extraordinaire, Jacque Carder.  Yay!  Jacque and I were both impressed not only with Carol’s ease in front of the camera, but also the fabulous wardrobe choices she brought.  I mean, how awesome is that red leather jacket?  Carol, thanks so much for a wonderful shoot, and for your calm yet effervescent spirit!

the collins family 2010

I feel so blessed to have met the Collins family years ago, just after their first little gal was born.  We get together each year for a photo shoot, and it’s one of my favorite, FAVORITE things.  When I show up, they all look adorable, and are ready to just play, and then play some more.  There’s never an agenda, so I get to take lots of photos of their sweet daughters just being themselves.  Yay!  These girls have so much personality, so it’s always really easy to get lots of fun images.  I hope the Collins family doesn’t get sick of hearing me go on about how wonderful they are, because I can’t help it….they are the coolest!

They got the cutest new pup named Henry!
