Hiya!  Awfully nice of you to visit my little ol' blog.

A quick description of me would be that I love my family, my friends, life, photography, and pancakes.

I live in Atlanta with my giant dog Fletch, and spent the first chunk of my working days as a scientist.  Then, I shifted some major gears, and started my photo biz nearly seven years ago.  I feel extremely lucky to have a career that is always changing and always challenging.  I'm grateful for every day that I get to wake up and do what I love.

I'm drawn to all forms of art, and multiple styles of photography.  However, I'm moved most by personality and character.  This is what set me on the path to doing portraiture.  Whether I'm shooting a beautiful wedding, a happy family, or a beloved pet, I'm always a portrait photographer.  I want every image to speak volumes and make it's viewer linger just a little longer.

I wear my heart proudly on my sleeve, and that's what you will get from my photos.  I will glady give you a little bit of myself in every frame I shoot.

jenny gets cheeky

Oh, now where do I start with this uber-lovely little lady? Y’all. I love Jenny. Anyone who knows Jenny, loves Jenny. Was I just a TAD happy when she wanted to do a Cheeky Lamb Boudoir shoot? Perhapsibly. We got to have the most girly-awesome photo time, and her hubby got a very, very special birthday present this year. Yes. When you look at how jaw-droppingly gorgeous she is in these pics, and you wanna start hatin’……don’t. She’s also whip-smart, talented, and the daggum sweetest thing since swirly blue lollipops.

I could not write this post without giving mad, stupid props to the incredible Miss Gina Rickicki for her kick-ass hair and makeup styling. I mean, seriously Gina! Seriously.

Now, take a gander at Jenny’s photos. If you can stand all the pretty.

stacey gets cheeky

No, not me, silly.  That post would be called “stacey loses her mind”.  This is a much better post.  This Stacey is a wonderful gal I’ve known for many years now, and I was thrilled that she wanted to take some Cheeky Lamb Boudoir photos!  These will be a gift for her very lucky hubby, Ryan.  What’s extra cool is that we did the shoot on their anniversary.  This worked well for them since our location was the gorgeous W Hotel in Buckhead.  So, after we were finished, they got to have a fabulous kid-free evening to celebrate 11 years of marriage.  Holla!

During photo time, we had so much giggly, girlie fun.  We were joined by super-duper Sloane Warren, who worked out some sweet hair and makeup.  Stacey and Sloane also have known each other for ages, so it was like a daggum reunion in that hotel room.  Also, there was wine and oreos, which doesn’t hurt.  It also didn’t hurt that to bring out Stacey’s incredible laugh and smile, Sloane was behind me flashing her.  Go team!

I am SO impressed with Stacey’s ease and confidence in front of the camera.  She did exactly what makes for a great photo shoot….she had fun being herself (with the volume turned up just a tad).  Oodles of gorgeousness.  I hope she doesn’t mind me saying this, but I’m probably going to put one of her photos on my fridge to remind me to work out more.  If my bod looked like hers, I’d own a lot more pairs of shorts and tight dresses.

Now, let’s get cheeky….

Thanks so much Stacey, for all your playful loveliness!

cheeky lamb video outtakes

Last night, I was going through some old files, and stumbled across something I had completely forgotten about.  During one of the first Cheeky Lamb Boudoir shoots, I had Robin shoot a few short video clips to document the process.  Well, it turns out that “document” means “check out Stacey acting like a total dork”.  So, I thought I’d share a little of that with all of you.  I also wanted to show how relaxed everything is so folks can see that boudoir doesn’t have to be synonymous with intimidating.

Both of these videos were taken during our shoot with the fabulous, wonderful, smart, and gorgeous Jas.  She has a fantastic blog that you should check out called Smile Big and Pretty.  Love that!

This first video clip is just me setting up the lighting for the next set of images.  Robin is standing in for Jas, while I continue to act weird.  A few things I love about this clip are:  Robin’s sarcasm, Jas laughing at us from the bathroom, and the utter mess we made in that hotel room (most of which is snacks).

Here is one of the images I took using that lighting set-up.

I had to take the opportunity to re-post this gem too, because it brings me so much joy.  Robin was kind enough to come assist during the shoot.  However, she was preggers at the time, and not feeling great.  So, her job became sitting in the jacuzzi, eating cheese puffs, and watching “Tank Girl” on TV.  Yay!

The second video shows me directing Jas during some poses.  However, the clip is less about that, and more about lame noises and my pants.  Also, more sarcasm from Robin.

And here are a couple of those shots….

Thanks so much, Jas and Robin.  I hope y’all enjoyed our little behind-the-scenes silliness!

lynn gets cheeky

I love that when planning Lynn’s Cheeky Lamb Boudoir shoot, her only comment was that dirt and/or bugs were ok.  Just one of many reasons to adore Lynn.  She is an incredible gal.  I’d describe her as a Jane of all trades, who is smart, hilarious, and sassy.  Um, she also does construction and knows her way around a farm.  All this wrapped up in the package of a supermodel.  Sigh.

I’m thrilled that she was in town long enough to work in a shoot.  Almost all of these pics were taken in my basement.  Lynn was such a sport while I said things like, “don’t impale yourself on those nails!”, and “I hope you’re not claustrophobic”.  She let me take my favorite creepy-type pics, and then we balanced those out with some crazy-silly ones.  Win-win!

Lynn, you are a stunning woman, and a total dream to photograph.  Thanks so much for making nice with my camera!

jess gets cheeky!

Jess is such a super-cutie.  Next to her, a baby koala bear would look kinda shady.  If you ever have bad day fever, Jess is probably the cure.  She brought all that charm and more to her Cheeky Lamb boudoir shoot.  We played, took some photos, played some more, took more photos, danced around, made a mess, and maybe took a few more photos.  Yay!

There are a couple things you should know about her to understand some of the direction we took with her shoot.  Her boyfriend is the best DJ ever.  She is a vegan, and bakes a mean cupcake.  So, we used a few of those ideas in her pics. Woo hoo!

If you are a friend of mine who does a Cheeky Lamb shoot, you must understand that I will probably make you look like a lovely corpse at some point.  If anyone wants to understand the origin of this quirk in my psyche, it stems from a photo I saw many years ago.  If you wanna check it out, go here.  That is my disclaimer for the last few pics of this post, and the explanation for my obsession with the creepy + beautiful combo.

Jess, thanks a million for the awesomest day of giggles and photos.  You are a pretty, pretty gem, and an absolute delight in front of the camera!

emma gets cheeky outside

Oh my goodness, I had been looking forward to this shoot for what seemed like ages.  I met Emma back when I did my first outdoor Cheeky Lamb Boudoir shoot for her friend Claudia.  Emma was nice enough to let us use her gorgeous property as the location.  Now, it was her turn!  When we met to chat about her shoot, she brought so many cool ideas to the table.  She’d say things like “Is it ok if I put a wrought iron bed in the middle of the field?”.  Um, YES!

She did such an incredible job with her shoot, and was relaxed, intuitive, sassy, and adventurous.  What more could you ask for?  Actually, the one thing I wish we’d had more of was time.  We worked in several different looks, but I think we had about another 5 we would have like to have played with.  After the sun went down, we shot a little longer.  However, it got real cold, real fast.  Poor Emma was shivering by the end, and was a real trooper.

This shoot will be a surprise gift for her hubby.  He is a lucky, lucky fella to be married to this wonderful gal.

Now, it’s photo time!

She had this fabulous Snow White look, so we played in the woods a bit.  Love it!

Classic vintage for a classic beauty.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a million more times…..boudoir shoots should be THIS fun!

Oh, the gorgeousness.  She had all this set up before I got there.  She gets all the bonus points.

We did a few “Snow White: Part II” pics…

Emma, thank you for being so fabulous, beautiful, and cheeky!

cheeky preview

I have a very delicate relationship with October.  Every year, I can count on this month to be so busy that I have to desperately cling to sanity by taking the occasional short-lived break to pet fluffy animals and eat plates of Mexican food.  However, this crazy time is also one of my favorites.  It’s full of many wonderful shoots and incredible people.  For example, here’s one quick pic from a WAY cool outdoor Cheeky Lamb Boudoir shoot I did this weekend.  I’ll tell you lots more about it when I do the full post.  In the meantime, check out this stunning lady…

claudia gets cheeky – outside!

Wow!  I am WAY excited to post about my first outdoor Cheeky Lamb boudoir photo shoot.  Claudia simply could not be more gorgeous or more photogenic.  I didn’t measure, but I’m pretty sure her legs are roughly 2 miles long.  Mine are roughly the height of a couch.

I was thrilled when we first met to plan her shoot, and she mentioned wanted something outdoors-y.  I wasn’t sure about the “where”, but it turned out that a friend of hers had the most incredible property that was offered up for our photos.  Yay, friends!  We began by heading out to where they knew of a super location.  I was in the back of the pick-up with my gear.  Just when I thought this was probably the most fun I could have heading to a shoot, 3 beautiful horses and a hilarious goat showed up and began chasing the truck.  I can’t remember when I’ve laughed that hard!  As we began snapping pics, we tried not to notice the rain that attempted to literally dampen our outing.  Claudia was not phased, and I covered my camera with plastic, and we had a blast.  Later on, there were even bats swooping around.  So cool!

I’ve posted four shots of this stunning lady.  Most of the images we captured will be just for her and her hubby to enjoy.  However, she was nice enough to approve these few for your viewing.  Claudia, thank you for being so wonderful, adventurous, and of course….cheeky!!

marie gets cheeky

Get ready for some va-va-voom!  Marie is a vivacious, sassy, gorgeous lady who recently had some Cheeky Lamb boudoir portraits taken.  I love that these shoots are more like parties than portrait sittings.  She brought along a sweet friend to cheer her on, and the fabulous Sloane Warren was there to work her makeup magic.  With us 4 ladies, the snacks, the wine, and the music……we were probably just one pledge away from being a sorority party!  Besides the whoopin’ it up, another one of my favorite things happened during this shoot.  Marie transformed throughout our session from being a little shy and cautious, to completely owning her shoot.  It’s so cool to witness someone’s confidence exponentially rising, until they are utterly comfortable with who they are and what they’re doing.  There’s nothing more beautiful than that.

These photos will be a gift for Marie’s hubby-to-be, and I think you’ll agree that he’s one lucky fella.

Marie, thank you so much for letting your fun, fiery personality come through in these pics.  You rocked it like nobody’s business!

jaimie gets cheeky

When I met Jaimie, I could tell right away that she was a fun, flirty, edgy kinda gal.  What I couldn’t tell was that she has a magical switch she turns on in front of the camera.  Now, there’s no denying that she’s a beautiful girl.  However, during her Cheeky Lamb boudoir shoot, she was working her expressions, her body language, her lighting, and everything else like she’d been modeling for years.  Years, I tell you!  I want to know how you do the voodoo that you do, Jaimie!!  She was so cool to shoot, that I might just have to keep her all to my photo self, and not let any other photographers take pics of her.  So there!

Here she is showing off some of that magic…

I call this next one, “Cheeky Lamb on a Hot Tin Roof”.  She’s definitely channeling some vintage Liz Taylor here.

If I tried to pull off this next move, there would be comedy.  Jaimie does it, and it’s 100% hotness.

There needs to be new word that means “way more than sexy”, and I would use it to describe these next pics.

Jaimie, you are one sassy, mysterious, rockin’ babe!
