What happens when 6 ladies get together to celebrate the fact that one of them is getting married in a week? This…..

It’s going to be a great, great wedding, and we’re all a LITTLE excited for Lara and Zach. YEAH!!!
Hiya! Awfully nice of you to visit my little ol' blog.
A quick description of me would be that I love my family, my friends, life, photography, and pancakes.
I live in Atlanta with my giant dog Fletch, and spent the first chunk of my working days as a scientist. Then, I shifted some major gears, and started my photo biz nearly seven years ago. I feel extremely lucky to have a career that is always changing and always challenging. I'm grateful for every day that I get to wake up and do what I love.
I'm drawn to all forms of art, and multiple styles of photography. However, I'm moved most by personality and character. This is what set me on the path to doing portraiture. Whether I'm shooting a beautiful wedding, a happy family, or a beloved pet, I'm always a portrait photographer. I want every image to speak volumes and make it's viewer linger just a little longer.
I wear my heart proudly on my sleeve, and that's what you will get from my photos. I will glady give you a little bit of myself in every frame I shoot.
Kathleen + Jon’s wedding would not have been complete without a super-mega-fun photo booth. This is a particularly special one. So many of my pals are in these pics, and there’s even a rare appearance from me and Wade (beer bunny + self-deprecating santa). Kathleen also proves once again that she is the BEST jumper that has ever lived. Barefoot in a wedding dress, y’all. I hope these images put a big ol’ smile on your face. Yippee!
I gotta give a big thanks to my friend Robin of Robin Nathan Photography for manning the photo booth…..and posing with me in it. Yay, Robin!
Just one more way that Anne and Bart totally spoiled me rotten on their awesome wedding day……the beautiful, giant, red, weathered barn I got to use as a backdrop for their photo booth. I now want all photo booths to be fraught with barn! Also, their wonderful guests really knew how to make the most of the posing opportunities. Yay to all the pirates, cowboys, princesses, and all the folks who made this so much fun. Woo hoo!
I’m glad that event photo booths have become so popular. It’s a great way to get more pics of your guests, and I think we’re all more comfortable having our picture taken when we’re encouraged to be silly. Woo hoo! Here are some shots and a slideshow of Chrissie and Alan’s sweet TV-themed booth.

Yee haw! Maxwell had the coolest cowboy birthday party at GB Stables. As usual, his sweet mom, Ryan, went all-out to make it a really special day. There were so many fun details that the kids and the parents totally got into. In fact, it was such an awesome party, I might just have the steal this idea for my next birthday. I mean, there were horsey rides, cupcakes, and a pinata! Need I say more?
Happy birthday, Maxwell! I wish you another year of learning, growing, and tons of giggles!
We set up a photo booth inside the stables. When it comes to cuteness, these kiddos are the definition of the word!
Here’s s little video clip of Maxwell giving that boot the what-for!
Oh, I love me some Robin Nathan. Not just because she’s an awesome second shooter. Not just because she brings me doughnuts. Definitely because she’s willing to be silly with me. Shooting weddings is hard work, but I think it’s crucial to focus less on how exhausting it can be, and concentrate more on the joy of it all. Yay! Robin is a great partner in crime when it comes to that. She understands the mix of professionalism and fun.
This video clip cracks me up. I’m testing the light on Robin before shooting a video of Chrissie and Alan. I apologize for the wack-a-doo sideways orientation. Like I said, I was testing the light, not my video skills. : ) Loooogout…..here she comes!
We had to “test” the photo booth before shooting the guests. Why take a boring test shot when you can play with props?! Holla!
I hope your day had an acceptable level of weirdness!
Just in case you didn’t believe me in my earlier post about how great Rachel + Scott’s wedding day was, allow me to introduce you to some folks who know how to have fun with a photo booth. For reals, y’all! Be sure to catch the slideshow at the end of the post. Woo hoo!

A big thanks to my second shooter, Travis Dorn, for manning the booth!
While I’m finishing up a big blog post of Rachel + Scott’s fabulous wedding day (soon, soon!), I’d like to offer a little photo comic relief. Being professional while I work is very important to me. Sometimes being professional involves climbing fences, acting a little goofy, and rolling on the ground in goose poop. Yes. Could I love my job more? Nope. The following photos were taken by my awesome second shooter, Travis Dorn.
Observe the photographer in her natural habitat. Rachel and Scott think I was taking a photo of them, but this was really an excuse to hang out with the sheep.
My sweet friend Sarah was in town to attend the wedding. Super yay! We grabbed a little alone time in the photo booth. Luvz her!
If you’re not careful, I will try to steal a smooch. Sarah looks appropriately terrified.
Wedding photos, coming soon…….!
Wilbur, Piglet, Porky……avert your eyes. It’s Baconfest 2011! Every year, the fabulous Dad’s Garage Theater hosts this fund-raiser fraught with meat, beer, and good times. If you didn’t make it out this year, you sadly missed The Heavy Petting Zoo, Hobo Wine Tasting, The Creepy Massage Table, and many more wacky activities. My contribution this time around was the PORKtraits Photo Booth. Me and my incredible assistant, Gina, made so many silly bacon props. I have a new love-hate relationship with felt and glue guns. Hopefully, in the future, I’ll work with a couple who REALLY wants a bacon prop photo booth at their wedding. Cause I’m aaaallllllll set.
Thanks to everybody who made the booth such a blast, and to everybody who volunteered and who came out to support this swell theater establishment.

We’ll also probably have these pics posted on the Dad’s Garage Facebook page soon, or we’ll put a link there to where you can find the pics (if you’re in one and want to find yo-seff).
Oh, one more thing. The song I use in the slideshow is “Friends of P” by one of my favorite bands, The Rentals. For our purposes, the “P” will stand for PORK. Die-hard fans of the band will know who the real “P” is. 10 points if you do…
Man, do I love a photo booth. I’ve been doing these for over a year now at weddings, and they are a total hoot. With Sarah + John’s wonderfully animated and willing guests, it’s no surprise that these are some of my all-time favorite pbooth shots. These were taken by my completely rad second shooter, Caroline.
