Laura did such an awesome job during her headshot session. Despite it being her first time having this type of shoot, she required practically no direction, and effortlessly changed her poses and expressions. I couldn’t believe how quickly her shoot went because she made it all so easy. Since I’m all about celebrity comparisons lately, I pointed out that she has Carmen Electra’s eyes, and Jessica Biel’s smile. I can’t believe nobody has told Laura this yet. Laura, thank you for being so sweet, fun, and fabulous!

ritchie’s headshots
Ritchie and I hit it off from the get-go. Of course, it helped that our meeting started with a lengthy discussion about “So You Think You Can Dance”. I think both Sloane (our fabulous makeup guru) and I would agree that we were having so much fun with Ritchie, that we didn’t want the shoot to end. It’s also impossible to take a bad photo of him, with those bright blue eyes and obvious resemblance to Anderson Cooper and Mark Harmon. Yay! Ritchie, you are great, and have two new fans!
cynthia’s headshots
Cynthia is an absolute joy. Not only does she have pretty features that make her easy to photograph, but she also has an impressively relaxed demeanor in front of the camera. She has such a wide range of expressions. There’s this one really piercing one that was actually giving me chills during our shoot. That says a lot since it’s not easy to get chills in 80+ degree weather!
A big thanks to the wonderful Jacque Carder for working her hair and makeup skills.
Cynthia, thank you for being so lovely, and for putting up with my constant commenting on how much you look like Hilary Swank!
diane’s headshots
There are two reasons why Diane deserves a big “HOORAY!”. First of all, she did such an incredible job during her very first headshot photo shoot. Secondly, she did all of this while being a real trooper since it rained during almost our entire session. Yay, Diane! Thank goodness the areas where I shoot have some fabulous covered areas. I have to give a big “HOORAY!” to Diane’s mom too. Rae took everything in stride, and did a super job keeping Diane dry during her trips to change wardrobe.
I also have to give a huge shout-out to Diane’s styling team from Authentic Beauty. Elana worked her makeup magic, and Hollie did an awesome job on her hair. It’s so important to me to work with people who understand the natural look, and particularly who understand that kids should look like kids. These ladies have it all figured out.
Here are a few of Diane’s shots. I still can’t get over what a pro she is! Woo hoo!
Of course we couldn’t end our shoot without a few goofy faces!
And we had to get a quick pic with mom. Cute x 2!
quick h-shots for tara
My pal Tara needed a quickie headshot for a sweet job she recently booked with Second City. Woo hoo! So we snapped a few pics, and got her all set. Tara and the camera obviously have a love-love relationship, so not only was this shoot fast, it was also pretty darn easy. But mostly, it was a great excuse to hang out and have some fun.
Be sure to mark your calendars to go see her perform at the Alliance Theater in “The Second City: Miracle on 1280 Peachtree Street” this November/December! Holla!
patricia’s headshots
This pretty lady is Patricia, who I recently got together with to shoot some headshots. Yay! The most accurate way I can describe her is that she is an adorable firecracker. I am a very chatty and bubbly person, and love when I get to work with others of my kind. She is a blast. Acting requires a lot of energy, and she probably has enough to do 3 one-woman shows simultaneously. Now, I don’t have a way of verifying this, but I’d like to see it happen.
rittelmeyer headshots
Hey, it’s my friend Chris! What a super-swell guy. So glad we got to have some photo play time to get him some headshots. This man gots skills. He’s real darn good at the improvising, and he has just about the most beautiful singing voice you’ll ever hear. No lie. I’m excited about seeing the show he’s in this evening. He’s in the cast of “Spoon the Musical” at Dad’s Garage Theater. I’m pals with everyone in the cast, and it was written by my friend Matt Myers, and directed by my friend Alison Hastings. How could this NOT be a great show?! You should totally check it out.
I’ve also been meaning to post a blog howdy to Erin Burnett, a lovely gal who checks out my blog occasionally. Since Erin is also in “Spoon”, I thought this would be a good opportunity to say “HI ERIN….AND ERIN’S MOM!”. Yay!
This just cracks me up!
Also, this one cracks me up. Chris, you so funny….and obviously brooding.
anna’s headshots
This beautiful gal is Anna. We recently got together to take some headshots for her, and she is as fun as she is adorable. She had a sparky personality that made me want to just keep chatting with her all day. On a photographic note, her golden eyes and engaging expressions made her a dream in front of the camera. Anna, thanks for being so dang awesome!
lauren’s headshots
This stunning gal is Lauren. We had a fantastic headshot-takin’ evening last week, and she is so sweet and fun. We did our part to support local wildlife by feeding lots of hungry mosquitoes (apparently, I need to buy stronger bug wipes).
Lauren is able to achieve something that always fascinates me…the ability to pose with a half-open smile, and still look awesome. When I attempt this expression, it seems that I’m seconds away from a stream of drool. Lauren pulls off this look, and manages to look gorgeous. I swear I’m not jealous. By “not”, I mean “completely”. Here she is, in all her fabulousness…
Thanks, Lauren…you rock!
tracy’s headshots
How adorable is Tracy? What a sweet, fun gal. Am I just a little bit jealous of how much she looks like Christina Ricci? Yes, yes I am. We had a blast taking her headshots last week. This shoot was yet another experience where I worked with someone during an entire shoot, and then had the person tell me I’ve already shot them before! Granted, she looked very different when I took photos of her during a performance of Synchronicity’s show “The Snow Queen” back in 2008. Wow, that was a cool show, and Tracy gave such a great performance in it. I can’t believe my brain did not make the connection to realize this was the same person. Old age is a harsh playmate. Tracy, thanks for doing such an incredible job during your shoot, and for not making fun of my absent mindedness!
