Probably since college, I’ve tucked away little keepsakes into a box or two with the idea of passing some little treasures along to my children one day. I don’t have any kiddos. I really like them, I just don’t have any. One of the many reasons I love taking family photos for people is because it makes my heart happy to think that this is how I’ll pass along a little piece of myself. Years from now, someone will look at one of these photos. They probably won’t know or remember who took it. They’ll care about the person in the image, and hopefully be moved in some way. They’ll laugh, or cry, or smile, or have a memory that leads to others. That’s surely much cooler than what I have in that box in the attic.
